The Inspector of Telegraphs, Mr Essex, has been visiting the West Coast on an inspecting tour. Aliss McLean of the Seven Mile Hotel who was brought into the Grey River Hospital a month ago, is, we are pleased to report doing well and hopes to be out of bed in a few days time. Air West, chemist, of Nelson, who has been here on a visit, in connection with the death of his late brother, Air A. N. West, has returned to Nelson. Air T. Newman, of Newman Bros, motors, which have linked up with the White Star Transportation Coy. for tho South Island, has returned to Westport after a visit to Canterbury. A greaser on the liner Tairoa, Air Borthwick, was fatally injured by a fall from a foredeck ladder at Dunedin. He was 52 years of age, and a Londoner. Air G. Little, who was hurt at tho State Aline, Rewanui, the other day, is progressing fairly well in the Grey River Hospital. His collar bone and two ribs are broken, and he will in consequence be incapacitated from his work for some time. The friends of Mr Joseph Johnston, of Rotomanu, will be sorry to learn that he is at p/esent seriously ill at the residence of his daughter, Airs Robin, of Tarapuhi Street, Greymouth. An Australian mining Mr Gray, is at present on a visit to Reefton, in connection with the Keep-it-Dark Alining Company. Air D. R. Gibbons, of Greymouth, who has taken a prominent part in the Boy Scouts movement, was at Palmerston North, married recently to Mrs Edith Robinson, the ceremony being performed by Rev H. G. Blackmore of All Saints Church.
