MAWHERA LADIES’ TEAM. The Mawhera Ladies’ Hockey team suffered defeat by the Blackball Ladies’ foam on Wednesday last, the result being two to* nil. Misses McDonald and Moorher d were scorers for the winning team. The ground was in a bad condition, but the Mawhera's put up a splendid game, Miss Furness being the outstanding player. Airs MeKano also saved several fine shots by Blackly Il’s fast wing, Miss Jamieson. To-day the newly formed Hokitika team will meet Blackball at the Recreation Ground, Cobden at 3.30 p.m. Hockey enthusiasts will find it an interesting game.
