REEFTON COURT CASES.
(Before. Mr W. Meldrum. S.M. At a sittings of the Magistrate’s Court on Thursday, cases wie dealt: with as follows:-— AFTER HOURS. One first offender was convicted and ordered to pay costs. UNREGISTERED FIRE A RM. Police v. Walter Fitizwilliain Brett, lor being in possession of an unregistered firearm. Convicted, and ordered to pay 7/- Court costs. A Tier some discussion ’.he firearm in question was mil ordered to be forfeit-mi to the NOXIoUs WEEDS. Walter Scott an Inspector of Stock v. William Farrell (Mr Lawry), being occupier of certain land, did fail to clear noxious weeds therefrom as required by law. Accused pleadeil “guilty.’’ His Counsel slated that his client was a returned soldier, and was not able to do continuous work, lie was in receipt of a war pension, further his farm was at present up to be* sold under the Discharged Soldiers’ Settlement Act. Convicted and ordered io pay 7/- Court costs. The licensing eases were adjourned to the 29th, June, 1922. REEFTON WARDEN’S COURT. (Before Mr W. Mcldrum. Warden.) . George Duggan ak Inspector of Mines v. William Farh-ell, for cancellation of coal prospecting license No. 5244. License cancelled and Court Costs 21,/- allowed. APPLICATIONS. Bolitho Bros (Mr Lawry) for a coal lease, Sec. G. 104., Blk. XV., Reefton S.D. Aiea 71 acres 2 rds. —Granted as from Ist July 1922. Bolitho Bros. (Mr Lawryfor a water race, situate in Blk. NY.. .Reefton S.D. four heads. —Granted for a term of 21 years. Joseph Gardner (Air Patberson) for a Certificate of Protection, for a period of four months in r<*spert to Claim No. 4080.—Granted as from 27/4/22. Denis Murphy (Air Phillips') to Surrender Water Race No. 278.1 situate r.ear Devil’s Creek. 'Eight heads. — Accepted. William Ale Vicar for an Ordinary Prospecting License situate in the Big Grey District over 100 acres.—Granted. Granted. Charles John Willis (Air Lawry) loi an Ordinary Prospecting License situate at Golden Point. Area 90 acres. —Withdrawn by leave. George G. Lockington (Mr Patterson) to Surrender Spe-cial Sites No. 2114. 2115, KU'S, and 585; Tramway No. 2531; ami Waler Race No. 1659. All situate in Blk. X., Reefton S.D. Surrmider of Special Sites and I ramway m-epted as from 8/6/22. Saurondor of YVater Race recommended to Minister for his consent.
