COBDEN TOWN DISTRICT.
MEETING OF THE BOARD. The Cobden Town Board met on Wednesday evening. Present Commissioners Billett (Chairman), Grams, Walter, Sotheran, Barret, Exeell and Tomlinson. The Works Committee reported that the grading of Blackett Street has been carried out. It has been decided to widen the turn at the corner of Palmerston Street and Nelson Quay to relieve the danger now existing. Arrangements are being amde to cart gravel to various streets as required.— Adopted. The Ranger reported that four horses and 16 cows were impounded during the week. A sub-committee was appointed to arrange for an overdraft at the Bank of New South Wales. In reply to a communication from the War Memorial Committee the sum of £5 5/- was granted. A request from a resident for a supply of gravel was not conceded as he is a non-ratepayer. Communications received from the Health Department in reference to improvements to drain, etc., of two places in the town were dealt with as instructed. The Treasurer reported rates out tan ding £144, and it was resolved that those who have not paid their rates be notified that unless satisfactory arrangements for payment of same are made within two weeks, steps will be taken to issue summonses for their recovery. y It was decided that future meetings / of the Board be he <1 at 7.30 p.m, in* / stead of 8 p.m. /
