Dr Rathenau (German Foreign Minister) is buying up some big industrial concerns in Austria, including the Woellersborg Munition Works, which the Austrian Government has been running for the production of peace goods since the war, not daring to discharge the workmen, as it feared internal troubles. There was an attempt to socialise the works, which increased its de- ’ licit by several milliards of kronen. , Dr Rathenau has pur ch; sed the works and this will relieve the Austrian budget of 15 milliards of marks outlay.
