AMUSEMENTS.
‘ ‘ PRINCESS CHRYSANTHEMUM. ’ ’ ( Another most enthusiastic audience assembled in Pollard’s Opera House last night to witness the second performance of "Princess Chrysanthemum.” Iby th-e Juveniles. As on the previous night, the operetta went with a right, good swing from start to finish, all the performers did exceedingly well, and reflected the highest- credit on Mrs Stavely, who was responsible for the whole production, and must be admitted to have performed her stupendous task with most conspicuous success. Inadvertently, in our first report, no mention was made of the important role filled by Master Fred Barltrop. that of Top-not, the Court Chamberlain. This lad gave a good account of himself both in his dialogue and singing and answeicd <?very call made upon him. Encores were the order of the evening, indeed all tho solo numbers and duets received a recall. At the conclusion, the Rev. Archdeacon Carr briefly thanked all who had contributed to tho success of the production, specially thanking Airs Staveley, whom the audience insistently called before the curtain. Quite a bevy of floral and toothsome tributes were showered on the various performers, thus concluding. the entertainment in a manner which is sure to appeal most to the little recipients.
