CHINESE CIVIL WAR.
FIGHTING RESUMED. TIENTSIN, June 2. While the old Republican Chinese Parliament has been convened here, for the first time since it was dissolved in 1917, and has adopted a programme aimed at the unification of China, news has come that the fightinng between Wu Pli Fu Chang Tsoliu’s forces has been resumed along the Chinese eastern railway, near Houfengtai. WuPli Fu’s objective is a southern strife of Manchuria. VANCOUVER, Juno 2. A United Press Message from Shangahai reports that the probability of Dr Sim Yat Sen resigning has now greatly decreased as a result of a victory of his troops over the Kiangsi forces, who have suffered a terrible defeat in the mountain passes before Nanehang. TOKIO, June 3. There is no confirmation here of the resignation of President at Peking. The Japanese officials are not inclined at attach any importance to the report, they regarding the step as one of expediency, without any fundamental reason. In any event it will not alter the Japanese policy.
