LOOSING THEIR “HANDS.” PROTEST AGAINST EMIGRATION. LONDON, .Turn* 1. The National Farmers’ I’nion has jnemoralised the Government protesting against the depletion of the countrv side where a shortage of farm hands is already acute. Australian ami Canadian immigration policies are calculated to benefit the Dominions at the expense of British agriculture. Tne surplus population which the Dominions do not accept, exists only in the cities and towns. The nienwralists declare that British agriculture is losing- its youngest and most skilful land workers, and British food production must decline in consequence.
