FOOTBALL.
TO-MORROW’S GAMES AT THE RECREATION GROUND. AVith to-morrow being a full holiday the League Centre have arranged a big programme for tho day’s football. A kick-off will be made at 10 a.m. when the first of four games to be played throughout the day will take place. Numerous requests have been coming in for a fourth grrde competition, and to morrow the Blackball and Runanga boys will set the ball rolling in this endeavour to have the young fry interested. At 11 a.m. the Kohinoor and Blackball juniors will try conclusions when the town team are confident o* reversing previous performances. At 2 p.m. the much-looked-for Rival-Boa junior match will eventuate and a dingdong game is anticipated. The Rival i team have so far won all their matches, while Roa have suffered defeat once only (to Blackball). The town team are quite sure they can continue along tho successful road they have set out on and are leaving nothing to chance against their mining opponents, who put up such a fine showing in thuir last game here against Runanga. They must be considered favourites on the day. Interest is rapidly growing in the junior competition and this game bids fair to be one of the brightest for the season. The senior game between Kohinoor and Blackball should also provide spectators with some good football as only | last week Blackball put it over Runanga I (the last winners of the Pollard Cup) I and the form of the northern team was i "vastly superior to that shown in the I early games of the season. The KohiI noor team on the other hand have been I strengthened by the inclusion of Geri ratty, who has been absent some time, and as the team have been training assiduously they can be depended upon to make up for recent disappointments. Should the weather hold out the public, pre in for some good football by visiting the Recreation Ground to-morrow morning and afternoon, commencing at 10 o’clock sharp.
