MITES AND RABBITS. Si DN EY„ May 24. Tbo mouse plague has brought to light a new prasatical development. Many dead mice found round the stacks have been swarming with mit-es. Anyone handling the bodies becomes infested ,aud sutlers severe irritation. Breaking the tortured skin results in inflamed sores. The Government Entomologist identified the mite us the lipyonyosus bavoti, of parasitic habits on human beings, but previously known us infesting produce stoics only. The possibility of the mite becoming a check on the mouse plague is mooted. SYDNEY. May 24. Reports from some sheep districts indicate poor lambing prospects, owing to the lato diy weather. Other districts report that rabbits are again very numerous, causing great destruction.
