REEFTON COLLIERS.

WORKERS AND EMPLOYERS MEET. A meeting of representatives of eoal miners and union representatives took place at Reefton, when the following were present: Mine owners’ representatives, Messrs C. Ti'inghani, J. Armstrong, C. J. Willis, N. Colling, A. D. Williams, J. Baxendalc, A. R. Ayson, W. Campbell, J- Morris, and J. McKenzie. The Miners’ Union was represent. 4 by Messrs M. Fagan, A. Stenson, J. W. Patterson, and G. E. Williams. Mr Tringham presided. The proceedings were friendly, a good spirit prevailing throughout. The parties agreed to reduce the representatives to four on each side. This sub-commit-tee sat on Tuesday, and arrived at a settlement upon all the points involved. The terms will be placed before a general meeting of the Miners’ Union, to be held on .Sunday. The agreement, if ratified will operate as from Monday next.
