Moonlight won the toss, and the home forwards soon broke away. Within five minutes of the start, the right winger, Bullock, registered the homes side’s first goal. The visitors then, took the play into the home territory, but only to find the defence too good. Runanga continued to press, Patterson, tho left-

winger, putting across a nice centre, which Gray gathered, and, beating the visitors’ defence, shot through well out of the reach of Wilson. Moonlight soon got away after this, and had much more of tin' play. After bombarding the home goal from the scrummage, Quibell got possession and scored Moonlight’s first goal. Five minutes from the interval, Gray added another for the home side. Half time; Run anga. 3, Moonlight 1. Flay was more even in the second half, the visitors showing up to greater advantage. Thompson, the visitors’ outside left, was playing a good game, and soon put throught another goal by beating Parsonage with a swilt low shot. The home side then made a vigorous attack on the visitors’ citadel, but Hog.g retrieved the ]»ressure. by conceding a corner. This was well placed by Patterson and Gray, the Runanga centre, put through adding Runanga’s fourth goal. Good midfield play then followed for some time, good combination being displayed by both sides. Ten minutes before full time, a free kick for a foul was given against one of the home, backs. Quibell took the kick and put throught past Parsonage. Final score: Runanga 4, Moonlight 3. For the home side, Richmond, Kinsey, Patterson, Gray and Mossop were tho pick of tho players, Gray having achieved the hat trick by scoring three goals out of the four. The same player now has five goals to his credit for tho two games played in the competition. He is the making of a good centre forward, and snows great promise for that position. The pick of tho visitors were Hogg, Quibell and Thompson. ‘ Mr F. Robson, Senr., carried out his | duties as referee in an efficient manner, __ ,
