COOLANA SOCIAL CLUB.

The above club held :i very successful euchre and dunce :it (lev's Hull, Cobden, on Wednesday, Muv 17, which was m every way an umpmlilied success. The euchre prizes were a very tine lot, and after a lot of exciting play I lie following were the winners: Ladies, Miss I'hherlv I, Miss Burns 2, Miss Cochrane 3; booby, Mrs Quartermain. Gents, h’. Cilmour I, Mr Edwardson 2, E. Clough 3; booby, S. ■Smith; secret I a blc. M r W. Wilson. I’hf secret table was an ii\’ioval ion for Cobden and caused some excitement, as the winner was only able to win one prize and the dr;.w proved the tact. After supper, which was servedSMtv the Cobtlen ladies and much appreciated was partaken of, the prizes wen* then distributed. They were the cause of much comment, being a tine lot. Xiiie prizes altogether were presented. Lancing was carired on under the supervision of Messrs de Freitas and Sweet man was was much enjoyed by over 100 couples on the lloor. Professor Williams’s full orchestra played divine music. The committee wish to thank the donors of prizes, also Mr e .\. Williams, who so ably conducted the euchrt* part, and which was a record fur Cobden. Messrs Dalzell and BeeTy the untiring secret a i it's, deserve all the credit which was due them for the manner ; n which they worked for success. They state it was an answer to the kindness of the Cobden people who came so spontaneously to their help timing the time the Pert h was wrecked lust November.
