FREEZING WORKS CLOSE.
A LAME EXCUSE. AFRAID OF A STRIKE. (Per Press Association.) GISBORNE, May 17. The Tokomaru Bay Works of the Gisborne Sheepfarmers’ Company closed down to-day for the winter. The decision was that the result of the action of the employees refusing to work at the reduced scale of pay authorised bv the Arbitration Court.
