ATHLETICS.
GREYMOUTH ASSOCIATION A meeting of the Greymouth Athletic and Cycling Club was hold last evening presided over by Air J. Wilson. A balance sheet in connection with the recent sports gathering showed a surpus of slightly over £9O. Votes of thanks were passed to the various officials and to the ladies who had conducted afternoon tea at the sports. It was reported that application had been made to the New cZaland Athletic and Cycling Union for the holding of the 1923 championships at Grcyouth. It is doubtful whether the request will be granted in view of a recent decision to hold the championships alternatively in the North Island. However a. promise was made some time ago that the meeting would be held here and this fact will probably assist the local Club in its endeavour to secure the meeting.
