TEACHERS’ OATH.

PARR’S REPORT. WELLINGTON, May 2. Teachers in public and private, schools throughout New Zealand have complied with the requirements of the Education Amendment Act, and have taken the oath of allegiance. The Minister of Education, the Hon. C. J. Parr, to-day informed a Prcssnfan that there was, so far as he was aware, only one refusal to take the oath. That was by the teacher in the Christchurch Boys’ High School, whose refusal had been reported in a Press Association telegram. All other teachers had, as loyal and law-abiding citizens, taken the oath w’ith no demur.
