GENERAL TOWNSEND.
KEPT OUT IN TURKEY. (Received May 2 at 10 p.m.) LONDON, May 2. Mr Parker, in tho House of Comcoms, informed General Townsend that the latter had been refused a passport to Turkey, because the British Government thought General Townsend’s presence in Turkey would be misinterpreted by France, Greece, and Turkey, and would be prejudicial to the peace negotiations. Several members protested against refusing a member of the House of Commons a passport because he, happened to disaprove of the Government’s policy. - General Townsend expressed his determination to question Mr. ChamberI lain later.
