Kakapo, Thursday, from Wellington. Opua, to-night, from Lyttelton. Orepuki, to-morrow, from Wellington. Ngahere, week-end from Onehunga. Kamona, week-end from Lyttelton and Timaru. NOTES. The Waimea arrived yesterday morning from West port and Wellington with general cargo, and a number of horses from the former port. The vessel discharged her cargo yesterday and (will load coal to-day, sailing for Picton to-night. The Joan Craig arrived early yesterday morning from Lyttelton and is loading timber for Australia. .She will be in port for four or five days. The Opua left Lyttelton on Monday evening and is due here to-night She will load timber and return. Tho Orepuki should arrive here on Thursday from Wellington. She will i load here for Lyttelton. The Kakapo is expected to arrive to-morrow from Wellington to load coal for Auckland. The Ngakuta is loading coal and timber for Lyttelton and is -expected to sail to-day. Tho Ngakuta its expected about tho end of the week from Onehunga to load. The Kaituna left Port Chalmers at 7 p.m. yesterday and will arrive here. to-morrow. On arrival tho vessel will load for Australian ports. The Kamona should arrive about the end of the present week from Lyttelton and Timaru. TELEGRAMS. SYDNEY, March 27. Arrived Manuka from New Zealand at 3.45 p.m. WELLINGTON, March 27. Arrived at 9. a.m. Treba.rtha from Cardiff. PORT CHALMERS, March 28. Sailed at 7 p.m. Kaituna for Greymouth LYTTELTON, March 28 Sailed at 10.30 p.m. on 27th., Opua, for Greymouth. THE SCHOONER ABEMAMA. The three masted schooner Abermama (337 tons) arrived off Greymouth direct from Sydney yesterday morning, and was berthed at the wharf with the aid of the tug “Westland.” The vessel had been 10 days out from Sydney and during the trip across struck fairly favourable winds although on occasions, as the chief officer states, they were 44 dusted up a bit.” It is interesting to note that this schooner was originally built by a Chinese Company in Novia Scotia, and only did one trip from there when she was sold to the Patrick Company of Sydney and has since then, been engaged in the Pacific trade, and visiting New Zealand ports. The Abemama is nameff after the island of the same name. The schooner carries a quantity of explosives for this port but the major portion of her cargo consists of a quantity of stone and machinery for the jAustralian Bottle Coy’s new works at Auckland. Captain A. J. Swanson has

command of the vessel and is assisted by a compliment of 11 others. It is expected that the Abemama 1 will discharge her cargo for this port this morning and sail for Auckland this afternoon. TRANS-ATLANTIC SERVICE. SYDNEY, March 28. The General Steamship Corporation, which conducts a monthly cargo ser- ’ vice between the American Pacific Coast and Australian ports, intends to substitute for the pres-ent fleet four vessels belonging to the Trans-Atlant-ic Company of Gathenburg. The steamers to be employed are to Sydic, Boxen, Boren and Tolkcn, each upwards of ’ 8000 tons.
