The very Rev Dr Kennedy of Hokitika, is at present on a visit to Christchurch, Staff Captain Dixon of the Salvation Army, returned to Christchurch yesterday. A London cablegram records the death of Dr Waller Perry, formerly ot Timaru. str O. T. Dykes, of the Post arid ! Telegraph Office, Geraldine, has arrived in Reefton on his annual leave.Constable -I. Quinn, who im.s been transferred from Hokitika w huckland, left yesterday for his new station. Mrs Fnamk Kennedy, who uas been spending a short holiday with, Mrs Kennedy of Greymouth, left yesterday en route to Sydney. Constable Murch left yesterday to attend the funeral of his late step-fath-er, who lost his life in an. accidental explosion at Ohakuno on Saturday. Mr W. J, Morris, of Rccfton, has just returned from a business trip to Christchurch. Mr Morris states that he found things very quiet on the other side of the hill. Mr J. P. Brandon, Mayor of Otaki, and formerly of Masterton, is considering a request that he should be nominated as a Candidate for the Otaki seat at the general election.

Mr Frank Oxford Collector of Customs at Greyomuth, is spending part of his leave in Dunedin, renewing acquaintance with musical and other friends. Mr A. C. Holms will be a candidate at the general election for the Masterton seat, which he contested in 1919. Mrs Robert Patterson, who came to Reefton in 1875, leaving the Old Country at the age of 9 years, celebrated on Monday the 30th anniversary of his arrival in Reef ton with a gathering of all her . children and grandchildren it was possible to get together, and all but two (who are in the North Island) were present.
