PARIS Jan 18. “Lo Matin” in an open letter to the United States Senator McCormick, replying to his demand for an inquiry into European military expenditures, points out that the cost of France’s army in 1922 amounts to 2140 million francs, or one-twelfth of the country’s total expenditure, aud equivalent to 178 million dollars compared te America’s 192.1-22 war budget of three hundred million dollars. France’s naval expenditure in 1922 equals 67 million dollars.
