ANOTHER DEMPSEY-CARPENTIER MATCH. LONDON, January 17. Tommy Burns telegraphed to Kearns and Descamps, respective managers of Dempsey ami Carpentier, stating that he represents a syndicate willing to offer £30,000 for a Dempsey-Carpen-tier fight, the winner to receive £20,000 and the loser £lO,OOO, each being allowed £lOOO expenses, to fignt in England. Jack Heeney, middleweight champion of New’ Zealand, wired his willingness to meet Brian McCleary under the auspices of the Otago Boxing Association for £l5O purse, plus £25 expenses. Unfortunately McCleary is ill at present, but' he is recovering rapidly at Waiati. He intends residing in Dunedin in future. About six fights are waiting in turn on recovery. But there will be nothing doing for a month. His first fight will probably be with Cadman, of Auckland, or MeQuarrie, of Southland. Em Baxter and Paul Hannah are matched to fight at Hastings.
