TRAINING AT TRENTHAM WELLINGTON, Jan 19. Perfect weather conditions prevailed at Trentham this morning. Work was principally done on the grass track on the outside of the course proper. Pluto aud Farceur left half a mile behind in 49secs. Paoanui and Sycorax covered a mile In 1.43 with Makere beaten off. Callaghan and Martial Dawn covered five furlongs in 1.3 1-5. Fabrinade and Mountain Peer took ** 1.2 for five furlongs. Palestrina and Silent King took 2.18 k for ten furlongs. ’ Mantua and Liquor covered six furlongs in 1.15, a distance which The Hawk took 1.16 2-5 for. Jackeroo sprinted half a mile in 50 secs. Songbird, Bengeroop and Mandrake, finished in that order over ten furlongs, the last mile taking 1.44. Insurrection beat Winning Hit by 10 lengths over a mile, left behind in 1.42. Egotism and Vespucci left a mile behind in 1.43 2-5. Thespian and Listowel registered 48 2-ssees for half a mile. Painty Step and Halifax took 1.17 for six furlongs. Blackmail beat Triboulet over five furlongs in 1.4. Solfanello and Sunny Corner covered five furlongs in 1.3 1-5. Red Bob and Borealis took 1.44 for , a mile.
