PRESS CONGRESS REPORT.

The capitalist daily newspapers has published what was supposed to be a resume of the proceedings of the World’s Press Congress, recently held at Honolulu. But, as usual, they only published what suited the interests of big business. Matters dealt with by the congress which did not coincide with the profits or prejudices of capitalism were denied publicity. Here is an example: Professor Williams, of Columbia University (United States) who was president of the congress, tabled a motion calling upon the delegates present to use their efforts to “disarm the typewriters of the jingo press of the world,” in order to make the limitation of armaments a reality. He also proposed a league of journalists dedicated to the ending of secret diplomacy and Imperialism, and which would devote itself to international justice, harmony, and friendliness.
