It ig with regret that 1 have to record the death of another of the old pioneers, Mrs Annie Wilson Shannon, who passed away at the Old People’s Hom® <ui Wednesday afternoon at the age of 74 years. She was a native o Scotland, and arrived in New Zealand in 1869. She resided at Riniu for many years. She was of quiet and unassuming manner and much respected by those who had the pleasure of her acquaintance. She leaves a* son, William, of Rimu, who will have the sympathy of many friends. The interment took place at Hokitika on Thursday. Bev Father Burger is at present spending a short holiday visiting his relatives here, 1 regret having to report the serl- - illness of Mr Frank Watson, °1 DiHmanstown. He is confined to his hod with pneumonia. We hope 1 will take a turn for the better and make a speedy recovery, FLOWER SHOW. The Flower Show held on Wednesday afternoon under the auspices of the Presbyterian Church, was a success in every way. The ladies committee worked hard and wish to tender their best thanks to all those who helped to make the function such a success. The management is to be congratulated on the splendid array of Howers shown in the afternoon. Many of the blooms particularly the champion class would compare more than favourably with those shown in the larger shows of the Dominion.

At night a musical programme was gjven. AU - Bqrry presided -over a large attendance when the following programme was submitted: Instrumental trio: Miss Mulvihill (piano), Miss Lalor (violin), Mr Steel (piccolo); pianoforte solo, Miss Stewart; vocal solo, Miss Kemp, duet (children) Misses M. Benyon and 1. Wallace; vocal solo, Mr W. Berfy. Each item was loudly applauded and an encore demanded by an appreciative audience. The splendid collection of Howers shown by Mrs T. McGrath and Mrs J.
