H. AND C.A. BOARD.

ORDINARY MEETING. 'The ordinary meeting of the Grey Hospital and Charitable Aid 'Board was held last evening. Present: Messrs J. McCarthy, F. Williams, J. Grvaney, J. W. Hannan, K. SkogTajd. W; 11. Parfitt. J. Irvine, and Rev T. N. Cuttle. 'Hie chairman*in opening the meeting extended a welcome to new members and expressed his pleasure at the re-election of most of the old members. Mr Parfitt expressed pleasure at reelection and returned thanks to I hi* Chairman for his congratulations. Mr Irvine said that he felt confident that the Board would carry out its duties in a manner that would ‘■at-j isfy those who had elected the mem-j bers. Mr Skoglund extended a welcome to , Rev Cuttle on his election. Ho had had great experience in hospitals and i lie felt sure be would be an acqui- | sition to the Board. Rev Cuttie returned thanks for the congratulations. From Shannon and AR ore, bakers, | asking for an increase of 2d per 1<«I | on bread delivered to the Hospital. This would increase the price to Is Ojd. The Auckland Board was paying Is 2d per loaf. The Board of Trade had increased the price of flour, and thus they were compelled to ask for the increase. Mr Skogund said that if they allowed the contract to be broken they would have every other firm which was under contract to the Board aSßfng tor am increase. He moved that no action bo taken. Mr Irvine seconded the motion which was carried. From Duncan McLean, re sugar 'lbl* Secretary frqpoTted that the Hospital had 40 bags m hand, which was sufficient for 10 months. It was decided that the Board did nob need supplies as yet, Mr Parfitt remarking: “We are sweet enough.” From Guinness and Kitchmgham on. behalf of the Marsden Road Syndicate offering a piece of land of four acres one rood 26.8 perches opposite the Hospital at £6OO per acre as a or the Old Men’s Home.—Decided that no action be taken. Two tenders were Icceived f ° F erection of tho X-Ray room i J Drake CIS4S 8s T> Sotheran, Lib/*. On the motion of Mr Skoglun , sec ended by Mr Williams it was decided to accept T. Sotheran’s tender. It was decided that the Borough Engineer, and Public Works Engmeer he asked to visit the Hospital amd report on the matter of an emergency water supply for the Hospital. TU Chairman, Rev Cuttle, and Mr Sk „ I lund were appointed as a commi ee J accompany the Engineers. It was further decided that the cal plumbers be asked to visit ie Hospital and give an estimate of cost of renewing defective spouting. Mr Skoglund gave motion that a special meeting be held to discuss possible alterations and the revision of the Board's by-laws.—The Secretary was instructed to obtain as many copies ns possible >of other Boards' by-laws.
