The Alexa left Wanganui on March 26th. Kahika. s.s. ; is unloading cargo here. Kakapo, s.s., arrived last night with general cargo from Wellington. Kaiapoi s.s.. completed loading her cargo of timber, and sailed last evening for Melbourne. Perth, s.s.. is due hero to day from Midbourne, and loads timber back I" that port. The Blackball Co.’s steamer Nga kuta arrived here with general cargo last evening. Kowhai. s.s.. sailed al 1” p.m. last evening from Wellington for this port. Kamona. s.s.. was expected Io leave Port Ahuriri yesterday for Greymouth. Kamo, s.s., sailed yesterday morn ing for Wellington with a lull load ol coal. A new jib boom is being made for the auxiliary sailer Zita, now at Wellington. and a new foremast will also be stepped. The vessel's deck is also being repaired and re-caulked. The Zita is to leave Wellington in about a fortnight for Lyttelton, and she will go into dock there for repairs to her hull, which will also be re caulked. Mr. W. W. Miller has joined the Kahika as purser. Captain C. F. Post has resumed command of the Government steamer Tutanekei. Mr. D. Mcl.eay. second officer, has signed oil’ the articles. Mr. D. McMahon has joined the vessel as wireless operator. John and Winthrop schooner, which left Lyttelton 65 days ago for this port, berthed here yesterday after a very adventurous ami trying passage.
