CHRISTMAS DINNER
AT GREY HOSPITAL.
On Christmas Day the inmates of the Grey River Hospital were given a Christmas dinner by the people of Greymouth. The hospital sto,ff had the interior gaily ami appropriately decorated for the occasion. One of the uurscs arrayed as Father Christinas visited the wards and~handed a Chnst- : mas present to each of the inmates. . * The numerous tables literally groaned under -the weight' Of the good things provided. The Mayer (Mr J. D. Lynch) and Messrs' Parfitt and Skoglund, representing the Grey Hospital and Charitable Aid Board were prosent. The Mayor in a happy speech, expresscY! pleasure at being able to be present on the festive occasion. He said he was certain that- the tables bore ample evidence that the dinner was quite the best given in the Hospital at Christmas time. One of the ' old age pensioners responded on behalf of the inmates and patients. The usual toasts were proposed and honoured ami several musical items givcii.
