THE SCHOOLS RUNANGA STATE. SCHOOL BREAK-UP.

Fri-e giving and sports on Tuesday, made the Christmas break-up of the Runanga School one of tho most successful functions of the kind yet held in the niiiiing town. Some ninety books were given to the Infant Department. Everyone got a prize, and first, and second and third received prizes throughout the Standards There were several school committee men present. Addresses were give* by several ladies and gentlemen congratulating the master, teachers, and scholars on their excellent work for the past year. On behaJt of the committee Mr Ward complimented everybody on the good report which had just been placed in the bands of the Committee by the Canterbury Education Board.
