STRIKE EXTENDING,
(Rcc. December 20, 10..40 p.m.) SYDNEY, December 20. The stewards' strike, is becoming more serious. The owners aro employing a strike-breaking crew on the steamer Marclla. It is now expected *tho strike will spread to tho wharf labourers. : The strike has also spread to the inter-State cargo carriers. Tho stewards on two vessels at Newcastle, are giving notice. The Union Companj r "is racing against time with tho Mooraki, which is duo to-night. If the vessel arrives in time, thtre is a. good chance of despatching her to Tasmania before the stewards' notice expires.
