v , WELLINGTON. December 15. A civic reception was tendered to the New Zealand Olympic Team in the Town Hall, this evening and there was a large attendance. The Mayor, (MrLuke), congratulated thet team on its efforts, stating that every one realised that, will more training and an earlier start from. New Zealand , it would have done much better. As it was the athletes had faithfully rej>resented the Dominion and New Zealanders were very proud of their Olympic Team. Although no firsts had been secured, "the team's prowess had enabled every membr to qualify, and that in itslf was a very great honour at a world gathering. Replying Mr Wilson (manager of the team) said the team was bea-ten, but not disgraced. Each member had doae weli, and. Hadfiekl especially had shown that there were only two better scullers than h§ in the world. Miss AValrond also had done exceptionally well, and she ha-d- received great praise from Miss Fanny Durack. %
