FEILDING RACES. FIRST DAY'S RESULTS.
FEILDING, November 30. Beautiful weather favoured the first day of the Feilding Races, and there was a tremendous crowd present. There was good racing and no accidents. The tote handled £44,740, against £36,279 for the fiTst day last year. Results: — Waituna Hurdles.—Mattock (McDonald) 1, Manhattan 2, Tempo 3. Also started: Lord Nagar, Maniahera, Goldstream, Pawerewere. Won by four lengths. Time 3.26. l Aorangi »Trial Plate.—Hallowroz L. C. Reid) 1, Miss Elva 2, Merry Queen 3. Also" started: Mida, La Paloma, Prudent Lad, Erin's Isle, Lerratta, Top Dog, Stylish Lady, Siberian, Sprinkle, Sandy McDonald, Theic, Ma, ropa, Red Bob, Gamboola, Dignity, Tokahi, Golden Vi, Western Boom, Marathon, Lady Pat, Glenma, Springtide, Coronita^ Birkenwiek. Won by a . short head. Time 1.11 1-5. St. Andrew's Handicap.—Red Ribbon (B. Dceley) 1, Client 2, Depredation 3. Also started: Marqueteur, Tcntcriield. A good race with a well fought-out fin ish. Won by half a length, with a head between second and third. Time 2.42 2-5. c Kowhai Hack Handicap^—Beloved (W. Blanche) 1, Valdina 2, Sweet Song 3. Abo started: Warrawcc, . Gloaming quickly took the led and won comfortably by a clear length. Time 1.25 3-5. Fitzroy Hack Handicap.—Namur (H. Ryder) 1, Admyra 2, Amberine 3. Also started: Hymarty, Asterina, Voluable, Borealis, ParoTangi, Empyrean, Big Push, Canyon, Amber Tips,' Prince Martian, Bell of the Camp. Won by a short head. Time 1.7 1-5.
