RAILWAYMEN'S PROTEST.

MARTON, November 30. At a representative meeting, the following resolution was carried unanimously:—"That tho Marton Branch of the Amalgamated Society of "Railway Servants of New Zealand indignantly and emphatically protest and wholo heartedly condemn tjog action of the Department in contravening both, in spirit and letter the terms of Clause 23 of the agreement arrived at be.tween the Executivo Council and tha Department on June 23rd. We furthermore call upon tho Executive Cotin cil to take the necessary action inline- - diately to have all the terms of tho agreement adhered to and liberally interpreted, which though promised, has not been carried out."
