STATE MINERS' UNION. SPECIAL MEETING. (A. and N.Z. Cable Association.) On November 24th last a special meeting was held at the Runanga .Miners' Hall of the Point Elizabeth / and Liverpool State Collieries Employees ' Industrial .Union Of Workers. Mr. J. F. Pattirison occupied the chair. The business of the meeting was to receive and discuss a circular from the Secretary of tho Miners' Federation, informing the Union that the Exccu-tiA-e have recommended that the Pukemiro miners shall be paid three weeks ' lock-out pay, which -will necessitate the striking of a lc\ r y in addition to the Broken Hill levy now on; also asking the' Union to send in their demands for the new Agreement. The ExccutiA'c's recommendation Avas endorsed. After a considerable discussion on the Union's demands for a new Agreement, it was decided that they recommend to the District Councils the advisability of discussing a weekly minimum wage of £6 10s per week Of .30 hours, and a fortnightly holiday on full pay each year, in the new Agreement. I Several minor complaints were 'brought before the meeting, arid were referred to the Committee, to interview the Mine Manager Avith a view to haA'ing tho grievances rectified. .
