♦ FASHIONABLE FUNCTION AT ST JAMES, SYDNEY.

Miss Mildred Croll, daughter of Mrs Croll, of Bungwahl, Myall' Lakes, Port Stephens,, introduced an unusual touch of colour into the scheme of dressing for her fully choral woddinsf with Mr Carl Mitchell, eldest son of Mr and Mrs (roorge Mitchell, of; Narooma, South Coast, last evening, at St. James's, King Street. Her gown of rich ivory pharmcuse was almost smothered in opalescent embroidery on net , and trimmed with St. Joseph's lilies in panne, the foliage being of green metallic. The skirt had extended hip panpanniers outlined with silver leaves, and the Victorian bodice was of rich creame panne. The veil of net was arranged in cap fashion, and fell to the end of her long train of real Brussels lace, which was loaned by Mrs. George Christie.- Her posy was or' lilies of the valley. Miss Croll, as bridesmaid, wore a'^mart gown of gold !:>.ce over old gold charmeuse. The 1.-.dice of jade taffeta was finished with a bow and long end of cinnai.r>n velvet. She wore a vogue hat of I-;-own' lace, finished with henna. Her ovv\y Victorian posy was of autumn 1 i ated foliage. Mr. A. Farelly supported the bridegroom as best man. The ceremony was performed by the Kov. G. Norberry Macdonnell, rector of St. Chad's Church, Cremornc. Mr. Ci. Faunce Allman presided at the.orj.;in. Mrs. Croll received the guests ::t the Went worth in a gown of black Uiffeta and jet. The honeymoon is to Ihe spent at Melbourne. The bride I ravelled in a smart tailored suit of ».'rench grey, with apricot pipings, and tf motor hat of black, finished with pink rose petals and long tie ends, twisted scarf fashion round her neck. The bridegroom's present to the bride was a diamond necklace, and to the bridesmaid a diamond brooch. The bride is a sister of Mrs. E. Johnson, of Preston Road, Greymouth.
