THE WEATHER
[Per Press Association.] ; Rev. Bates * reports as follows: — The atmospheric pressure has proved unsteady, increasing slowly in 4lie south, but rising and fallinrr again in the north. Winds have been variable to strong, westerlies predominating. Considerable rain has fallen on the West Coast, and on Inch O'.ui.trv in the South Island, but warm and humid conditions are reported in northern and East Coast districts. Present indications arp for va-riab'e to moderate, to strong winds, north iri-s---terly to southerlies ruling Changeable and showery weather may be expected, but great imrKovement in the south. The barometer is rising temporarily in the south, and is falling for a short period in t|-.e north.
Mr. Mclntyre has been re-elected County Chairman of Buller.
Mr. Anton Anderson, late of Greymouth, has been appointed Resident Engineer of Seaward^ Alaska. Mr. Anderson's appointment is from the American Government, and his many friends will be pleased to hear of his promotion.
