MERCHANTS UNSETTLED

SYDNEY, November 26. A slump has occurred in Inter-State cargo trade, and for the first time in many years the shippers are not inquiring for space to ship big parcels of goods foT the Christinas trade. « This casing off has not come suddenly, but the unsettled state of the markets during the past six months has gradually been reflected in the coastal trade. Merchants arc very unsettled and afraid to anticipate Avhat the position may be three months hence.
