FREEZING WORKERS' DISPUTE.

EMPLOYERS' ULTIMATUM.*

GISBORNE, November 2G. At a meeting of rthe Poverty Bay District Freezers' Union, called to discuss the dispute with the freezing companies, there was an attendance of 200 members. The following resolution was passed: ''That tho members of the Union decide that they .will not accept the irianagement until the employers agree to meet the Federation, with a view to obtaining a settlement of the dispute." Killing locally had been fixed to start next Wednesday.

The hunger-striking was also finished. The" Irish Republican army was being broken up. The only issue remaining was : — Who was for the Empire and who was for assassins. (Cheers.) ]\lr. Clynes said the Government should put upon Irish people the responsibility for the Government oi Ireland. Mr. Asquith's motion was rejected by 303 to 83.
