TRAM COLLISION.

CHRiSTCHURCH, April 10

A head-on collision between two train-cars occurred on Riccartoij Road to-nigbt sis the result of which, Motormaii. James Thomson had his l e £ broken', and the cam concerned were badly damaged. Thomson was driving an outward car. How the accident actually happened is not quite clear, but it is stated that on approaching a loop, the trolley pole of an inward car driven by Motornian Brakeway left the wire. Brakeway jumped clear, but Thomson was pinned amongst the wreckage and it took nearly an hour to extricate him. None of ihe passengers were hurt.
