Lord • Beaverbrook, in proposing the toast fof "Our Otuests," Said he hoped to tell them, and, through them, the people, that Britain's part in the war was great. She contributed more men % ■, percentage than any pf the Dominions. Britain herself coujd uov claim, recognition for what sue was doing, and in this way perhaps the doings of the Dominions appeared to eciigse the Motherland. He hoped the visitors would be. able to put things in right perspective, if there -were any misconceptions on that point.
Mr. Hackett ("Auckland Herald"), replying, referred generously .jbo the British people. They gave every credit to the Dominions, while taking little themselves.. There : was. no direct misconception overseas about Britain's part, as the cable, news kept them informed of "Britain's efforts.
