A SUCCESSFUL MEETING

HAWERA, September 19. . The Egmont meeting took place in fine, but cold weather. The attendance was large, and the going good. The tote handled £23,752. Results:— JUMPERS' FLAT.— Flying Camp 3 ; 7 — Forum 2; %— Lagon 3. Alsp ran: 6— Key, 4— Whettoki, s— Anitra, 8— Formosus, 3— Tarry. Won easily by a length and a half. Time 2.5 3-5. TBWHITI HANDICAP.— I—GIenroy (H. Gray) 1; 2— Royal Chef 2; 3— Hyginas 3. Also started: 8-r-Rewi Poto, 4 — Corpapit, 7 — Starengo, Rajput, Notability. Rewi Poto, and Starengo were troublesome at the post and the former was badly left. It was a decisive win by three lengths. Time 1.17. . TONGAHAE HACK HURDLES.— I — Zola 1;. 10— Pplthogue 2; 7—Doncaster 3. Also started: 3 — Lord Ainslee, B— Golden Grafton, 2—Waioture, 4 — Dasher Boy, s—Huyza,5 — Huyza, 9— Paparess, (3 — Welshman. Won comfortably by six lengths. Time 2.54, NORTH TARANAKI HUNT CUP STEEPLECHASE.— 3— KurnoIpi 1; 4 — Brown Joe 2; I—Wakaranda1 — Wakaranda 3. Also started: 2 — Tiru, 7 — Lady Renown, (5 — Mac, s—Patareka.5 — Patareka. The jumping throughout was excellent. Kurnolpi won by five lengths. It was a very popular win; Time 6.5. McRAE MEMORlAL.—2—Alteration (H. Gray) 1; Detroit 2; 3—Metchlkoif 3. Also started : 4 — Alter. Won by three lengths. Time 2.14'~3-5. WAIHI HACK— 7— Ju Jitsu 1 ; 1— Royal Park 2; 15— Otongo 3. Also started: 6-1-Robur, 4 — Glucian, 2 — Zela, 11— Compel, 9— Perfect Day, 13 — Marquetry, 10 — Army Service, 5-r Romance, 17— Trench Wheel, 3—Mindorah, 12~Lipton, B— Logan, s—Hollow, 14— Suvla, 18— Guidnfonn, 16—Cammey. A good start for so large a field. ' Won nicely by two lengths. Time 1.55. LADIES' BRACELET STEEPLECHASE.— I— Tiarau I;6— Papatere 2; Mac 3. Also started: I— Flying Camp, '3 — Jacaranda, 2 — King's Park, 12— VVhakompa, 10— Jet Black, 13— Glenaron, s— Larry, 10 — Ngatroness, 9 —Master Webster, 7— White Stocking. The event was a chapter of accidents. Only four completed the course. Three fell and two lost their riders, Another pulled up. Won by two lengths. Timo 4.15. Burt the rider of Flying Camp was sent to the hospital in an unconscious condition. The other riders escaped injury. TELEGRAPH.— 2^-Pennon 1; 6— Geneskus 2; 13 — White Ranger 3.
