JLOiNDON, September 19. A French eastern communique states : . Respite important enemy reinforcements, hastily brought up, and a desperate defence, tlie Allied offensive has been continued- successfully on the 17th. All the day's objectives were reached. .Attacks were developed on a front of thirty-five kilometres. The advance has reached a maximum deptn of fifteen kilometres. Serbians are co-operating with the French; and Welleni's detachments, after a severe struggle, captured tne villages of Zovik, Stravino, and the Heights of Volchitcha and Becmato, northwards of the river Gradesnitza. The village of Gradesnitza was captured despite a severe defence. In the centre the Allies made progress oT a crest rising from . Kozac, northwards. They gained a footing on the" heights Kuchkowkamen. Over fifty guns, including twenty heavies were taken, and. very great boo'v was also captured. iTTe number of prisoners is incessantly growing. The Allies have bained complete air cupremacy. Their airmen participating mose actively in all directions.
