THE WEATHER
Mr. Bates reports: The wind has changed to a southerly, strong to gale, since Tuesday night. Tho atmospheric pressure has increased rapidly in the south. Stormy weather has ruled, with rain generally,' and considerable snow has fallen in the South; Island. Present indications are for a southerly wind and cold, squally,, and showery weather, and the barometer rising everywhere.
