NEW YOKK, September 17 Franco-Serbian troops advanced five miles on the Macedonian front, capturing 3000 prisoners and 20 guns. (Rec. Sept. 18, 6 p.m°) _ A French Eastern communique states: After a violent artillery preparation, the Franco-Serbians attacked enemy works in the mountain zone of Dobrepolje. The entire first line of Bulgarian positions was brilliantJv carried on a front of 11 kilometres despite difficulties of ground. Many prisoners were taken, and important booty captured. Operations are developing favourably. -Anglo-Saxon airmen effectively supported the infantry and bombed communications.
