THE WEATHER
Mr Bates reports:. High northerly winds have ruled, especially in, and southward of Cook Strait, through a westerly storm area is now enveloping the Dominion. Dull and unsettled weather is prevailing, and rain is spreading over all the Dominion, The present indications are for northwesterly to south-westerly winds, strong to gale. Expect stormy weather and rain probably generally, with snow on the higher levels and flbbded. rivers in Westland and Southland. The barometer will be falling for a short time . in the north, but rising soon in the south.
