MASTERTON, September 17 At the Magistrate's Court, Alexander Birss, licensee of ihe Taratahi Hotel, wias fined £25. and Alfred Congdon, a taxi-driver, £10 for having supplied liquor to Natives in a proclaimed area. HISTORY OF, THE WAR. WELLINGTON, September 17 Sir James Allen states the first volume of Soldiers' History of the War will be published before Xmas. This volume will deal with the story of Gallipoli. Base Records have received over 1000 letters, diaries, photographs, and sketches. Government intends to prepare a similar history of other campaigns and will welcome tho loan of letters or other material which might prove interesting and useful.
