HAIG REPORTS PROGRESS,

(Rec. September 16, 8 p.m.) LONDON, September 16 Sir Douglas Haig reports: In a successful minor operation .early in the morning we captured Maisscoy, northward of St. Qucntin. We also took a trench system south-eastward of the village. There is considerable hostile artillerying at a number $£ points on the battle front to the southward of the Arras-Cambrai road. Sir Douglas Haig further reports:— Enemy aircraft were active on 14th September. We destroyed four. We also destroyed two two-seaters on the ground, during a successful attack ai a low height on an aerodrome southward of Lille. Two British machines are missing. We dropped in the past 24 hours eight tons of bombs.
