*-» STAR OP THE WEST LODGE. INSTALLATION CEREMONY. The half-yearly meeting of the Star of the West Lodge held in the Druids' Hall, Taiuui Street, last evening, was attended by about 50 members of the Order, over whom A.D. Uro. ft. J3arrowman presided. After dealing with the ordinary business, the Lodge proceeded with tho nomination and subsequent election aud installation of the officers. The following brothers were installed for the ensuing term: — A.D.. Bro. L. Willinms; V.A., Bro. J. Booth; J.P.A., Bro. R. BaTrowman: 1.G., Bro. J. Owen; 0.G., Bro. J. Sauuders; A.D.B.'s, Bros. P. flansen and J. Smith; V.A.B.'s, Bros. A. Mosley and R. M. Hempseed; Secretary. Bro. J. Tennent; Minute Secretary, Bro. G. Weaver; Treasurer, Bro. W. Sampson. D.P. Bro. Butler (Kumara liodge), who performed the duties of Installing Officer in a capable manner, was assisted by P.D.P. Bro. ii. Weaver. Before closing, the District President, on behalf of the locaJ Lodge, presented P.A. Bro. C. K. Miller and P.A. Bro. J. Saunders with Past Arch Diplomas. Both of these brothers suitably returned thanks. Later the members" adjourned to the Social Hall when a toast list was gone through. The toasts duly honoured wef e:_"The King and the Order," proposed by A.B. Bro. L. Williams; "Grand Lodge," proposed by P.D.P. Bro. W. Shaw, and responded to By D.P. Bro. Butler and P.G.P. Bro. J. Tennent; "Officers Elect of the Star of the West Tiodge," proposed by Bro. W Murray and responded to by Bros. Williams and Booth; "The Visitinp Brethren," proposed by P.D.P. Bro. G. H. Weaver and responded to by representatives of the Lodges present"Our Boys at the Front," proposed by J.P.A. Bro. R. Barrowman. During the evening musical items were rendered by the following: Bros. J/Smith, Hopgood, Butcher. Pender, Tennent, Booth, Satterthwaite Jiifd Saunders. The singing' of the Nn tionnl Anthem concluded a most enjoyable function.
