— * — I Mr. Bates's weather report is as follows: — - ! Strong southerly winds have predominated and scattered showers have been reported, but the weather has improved in many parts. To-day the barometer has risen in the northern districts and been unsteady {in. tlie south. Pieseut indications are for strong west to soutli-west winds, and ohsmgeable weather, with passing showers, particularly along the western coast. The barometer is unsteady with a rising tendency.
