THE POPULAJR GIRL COM PETITION.

(To the Editor.) Sir, — In your report of the Citizens' Band concert at the Opera House on Tuesday .night you state that the winner oi' tho competition, Miss Ivy Anderson, was nominated by the above Band. On behalf of the Band members, I wish to emphatically deny that the Band had anything to do with her nomination. Miss Anderson was the nominee of the Tradespeople. — 1 am, etc., C. FRASER, See. Greymouth Citizens'. Band. (Our correspmient is quite correct. Miss Anderson was not the Band's candidate. The mistake occurred through our reporter being misinformed when he eiiqui red whose cnmli- j date the successful competitor was. — Ed. Arjjus.)
