I THE STRANDED JANE. MAY BE TOTAL WRECK. . (By Tel-Special Correspondent.) HOKITIKA, .September 2 The Secretary of the Hokitika Shipping Co., Mr. R. Wild, received intormation from, Captain Vasta on Saturday afternoon that the heavy seas of the last few clays had, done considerable damage to" the Jane, which stranded at Okuru bar lasjb week. The captain advised that the 1 damage was such that he had deemed it advisable to take the engines out of" the vessel. A meeting of the directors of the company was held" on Saturday evening and it is understood that it was arranged to send either the Wakiti from; Hokitika or the Nile from West-" port to the scene, the opinion of those having, experience being' that V::the 'Jane will become a total wreck!
